Logan Mister, Northern Marianas College (NMC) NSF-ATE student, accepted an internship with the consulting group, Johnston Applied Marine Sciences (JAMS). Logan set up a pilot experiment to test the effects of different fragmentation techniques on the growth of the ESA-listed threatened species Acropora globiceps. The results of this study will help JAMS to optimize their coral propagation efforts and restore their populations in the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Island’s (CNMI). Logan will be transferring from NMC to the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa this Fall semester to study marine science.
