NSF ATE Project Featured in ATE Impacts Flip-Book
In many of his travels to Palau as well as Washington DC, Dr. Richmond (University of Hawaii, Director of the Kewalo Marine Laboratory) is often involved in federal-level decisions discerning the health of coral reefs and supporting indigenous communities vulnerable to the rapid environmental changes that threaten their daily livelihoods. He always speaks highly of the NSF ATE grant project’s 5 faculty and their students as they work together to strengthen their marine/environmental science programs. One particular meeting caught the attention Dr. Keith Sverdrup (Program Director of the NSF). Soon afterwards, Dr. Richmond was contacted by Madeline Patton, the editor and writer for the ATE Impacts book. Half a year later, Mrs. Patton has completed the book and selected Dr. Richmond’s NSF ATE grant project to be feature in this publication (page 27): http://ateimpacts.net/book
